Apple TV Plus has just dropped the first thrilling trailer for “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters,” an upcoming 10-episode series that delves deeper into Legendary’s Monsterverse franchise. This highly anticipated series will feature the iconic kaiju-like characters Godzilla, King Kong, and King Ghidorah. Mark your calendars because the first two episodes are set to premiere worldwide on the streaming platform on November 17th, with subsequent episodes released weekly until January 12th.

While the trailer keeps many details under wraps, it offers a tantalizing glimpse into the world of “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.” Fans can catch snippets of Bill Randa, portrayed by the talented John Goodman, known for his role in “Kong: Skull Island” (2017). The teaser also provides quick glimpses of the colossal creatures that have enthralled audiences for generations and promises an epic showdown.

For those who relish watching giant creatures clash in apocalyptic battles, this series is shaping up to be a must-watch.

“Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” spans three generations and boasts an intriguing casting choice. Kurt Russell and his son, Wyatt Russell, will both portray the same character, Army officer Lee Shaw. The narrative picks up after the events of “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” (2019) and follows two siblings as they embark on a quest to uncover their family’s enigmatic ties to Monarch—an organization deeply entangled with the enigmatic kaiju, including Godzilla and King Kong. The story unfolds across multiple time periods, uncovering Lee Shaw’s involvement with Monarch dating back to the 1950s.

In addition to the Russells, the series features a stellar ensemble cast, including Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett, and Elisa Lasowski. “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” aims to pose the thought-provoking question, “Who are the true monsters?” in a world where humanity grapples with co-existing alongside a newly discovered population of colossal titans.

Fans of the Monsterverse will be delighted to know that Warner Bros. and Toho remain dedicated to expanding this shared universe. The next installment in the franchise, “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire,” is slated for release in the United States on April 12th next year. So, the wait won’t be too long before we can once again witness titanic battles on the big screen.

As anticipation for “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” continues to build, it appears that fans of colossal creature carnage and cinematic world-building have much to look forward to in the coming months. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting addition to the Monsterverse
