2. Story & Setting
The world’s last evil has fallen, its final quest completed, and every treasure chest opened. To honor the Heroes of Old, the Chronicon, a grand magical device, allows a select few to re-live these epic tales. This year, you are the chosen one, stepping into the memories of these heroes to replay five legendary battles.
Chronicon Device: Portal into Heroes’ memories; acts as the main hub where NPCs and waypoints reside.

Five Acts:
- Act 1: The Fallen Temple: religious/dungeon style, including a corrupted priestess (“High Priestess Medella, The Blood Queen”) as a boss.
- Act 2: The Elven War: human vs elf conflict in forested settings, with elven/outdoor zones and bosses like Ranger Captain, Archdruid.
- Act 3: Clairbourg Castle: strongholds, castle/tower zones, dark towers, indoor medieval architecture.
- Act 4: The Perilous Wastes: more diverse, harsher environments including desert-type zones, dune mother boss, pools of eternity, throne of bones etc.
- Act 5: The Final Frontier: more exotic, possibly otherworldly or altered zones, with more difficult bosses and challenges.
Emphasis: Varied environments, shifting enemy and boss rosters per act, quests tied to lore and setting

Pro Tip: Use Transmutation/Empower on lower-level items to raise them up to match higher-level items of the same quality. This lets you cheaply boost base stats without needing to hunt for perfect high-level drops
3. Classes & Build Framework
You may assume the role of one of four classes, each offering unique playstyles, masteries, and synergies. All classes can reset skills freely, encouraging experimentation and synergy exploration:

| Class | Role | Core Strengths and Typical Focus |
|---|---|---|
| Templar | Durable frontline/hybrid | Defensive auras, shields & blocks; strong survivability; health + thorns; utility and support via buffs. |
| Berserker | Melee damage dealer/close-quarters | High melee output; specialization in bleed, overpower and physical damage; good mobility & burst damage. |
| Warden | Ranged/Utility & DoT/Hybrid-ranged | Fast ranged attacks; damage over time effects; elemental/physical mix; excels with kiting and using supportive & ranged skill synergies. |
| Warlock | Spellcaster/AoE/Magical burst | Elemental spells, strong AoE; crowd control; unique “Souls” resource; excels in damage scaling and magic-based burst. |
4. Core Mechanics & Combat
Combat unfolds in real-time across grids of monsters and destructible scenery. Key systems include:

- Skill Trees & Masteries: Each class has four skill trees in which you allocate up to 100 skill points by level 100. In addition, there is a mastery system with infinite mastery points beyond the cap; excess mastery points are used to increase core stats (damage, health, mana, etc.).
- Infinite Respec: Players can reset their skills at any time without cost by speaking to the NPC “King Tinka” so as to experiment with builds freely.
- Difficulty Scaling: After completing the main campaign, higher difficulties become available (such as Legendary, Mythic levels), with increased enemy health, damage, and better rewards. There are also “endless” or “anomaly” type content that scales indefinitely
- Combo System: There is a kill streak combo meter system where consecutive enemy kills (without breaking the streak) grant bonus experience and gold

5. Loot, Crafting & Enchanting
Chronicon features hundreds of items, from Common to Rare, up through Legendary and True Legendary rarities, with randomized enchants and qualities, plus powerful set items. Deep crafting systems let you customize gear through enchantment, gem socketing, empowerment, and rune inscription.

- Enchants: Minor, Major, Epic, Legendary affixes roll randomly on gear. You can re-roll, scramble, or augment enchants. You can lock enchants (“solid” enchants) to prevent them from changing with future scrambles. Some enchants are “solid” and cannot be removed.
- Gems: There are gems for different elements; you can socket gems into gear via NPC Gemma. Some items have gem slots; gem bonuses depend on both the gem and the item slot. Gems can be upgraded.
- Empower & Runes: You can extract Legendary or True Legendary powers into runes via transmutation. Lesser runes come from Legendary items; greater runes from True Legendary items. There is a cap to how many greater runes you can equip at once (e.g. 3). Runes are permanent once applied, and each piece of gear can have at most one rune.
- Transmutation: You can transmute items to extract rune powers, apply runes to other gear, empower items’ stats, or combine unwanted gear, materials, crowns to reroll, upgrade or convert items. Some recipes require destroying the original item.
- Gambling: There is an NPC (“Tarot”) which allows you to spend crystals (a form of game currency) to get random items. These gambled items can be Legendary, but cannot be True Legendary through that system. Used mainly when you need to fill gear slots or improve weaker pieces.

6. Progression & Endgame Systems
After completing the five story acts, you unlock Anomalies, dungeons of various types and with escalating challenge and rewards. Level cap is 100 for skill-points; beyond that, mastery levels continue without limit, allowing infinite power scaling.

- Story Acts: Complete Acts I–V to unlock Anomalies and access higher difficulties (including Mythic levels).
- Level Cap: 100, this is the maximum character level for skills. Masteries however continue indefinitely, with mastery points earned even after level 100.
- Anomaly Types, Difficulty & Tiers: There are different anomaly modes (Random, Dungeon, Elite Dungeon, Endless). Tiers increase both enemy power and loot quality. Endless Anomalies allow pushing beyond fixed Mythic-15 levels.
- Codex & Achievements: There are codex, lore drop mechanics tracking unique drops, enemy entries, recipe, transmutation knowledge, and achievements for completion

7. Advanced Strategies & Pro Tips
These strategies are refined best-practices that experienced Chronicon players use to maximize progression, optimize gear, and avoid common pitfalls as you push into high-tier content:

- Build Synergies: Free respeccing invites rapid iteration. Test core combos like DoT focused Warden builds or burst-tank Templar setups before committing gear.
- Difficulty Tuning: Push Mythic only once your key items are Legendary-plus; otherwise farm anomalies on lower tiers for steady gear progression.
- Combo Farming: Preserve high combo chains by clearing mobs in tight clusters; use area skills to maximize gold and XP rewards.
- Loot Filters: Enable automatic pickup only for Rare or higher gear when leveling, then switch to Unique-only filters at endgame to reduce inventory clutter.
- Crystal Management: Save crystals for gambling on high value item slots (weapon and chest); use transmutation for off-spec gear.
